Is it good to save for things?

My birthday is coming up and I already know what my pArents are getting me. And I get money from everyone else. Today I cut a lawn and got enough money to spend it on a iTunes card. I asked my mom if we could go get one and she says I should Save it for something. Th prob is I don't know what to save for because I hav everything I wanted after iv saved for it, and I know I'm already going to get alot of money anyway.
