How to get rid of gingivitis...?

Hi I have gingivitis and I guess that it is partially my fault because I don't floss my teeth very often. I am not going to go to the dentist (please do not say to go to the dentist because it is not going to happen for financial reasons). I feel like it is in a way not my fault because I was brushing with "Crest" that had mini whitening strips in it and I didn't realize until last week that is did not protect against gingivitis. I want to get rid of my gingivitis as fast as possible without visiting the dentist or getting a prescription. I am now using Crest total care, flossing my teeth, and rinsing my mouth with heavy salt water. Is that going to make it go away? I am willing to use other products that are not prescription is necessary! Please help! Thank you :)... More like :{|} (that's gingivitisy lips) ;). (Not THAT bad though :P).
